Just noticed the link to this website. My grandmother was a Compton and her relatives once owned Compton Castle in England. I can remember my mother telling me of a letter that my great grandmother received asking if she or other American relatives wanted to return to England and take over the operation of the estate. Unfortunately there were no takers. I too am a music fan. I have digitized most of my music collection which constitutes some 25,000 tracks. Having grown up in the late 50's and 60's, Easy Listening or Elevator music was my favorite, especially the instrumentals. I have around 1200 CDs and some 300 Lp Vinyl albums. I am in the process of digitally copyinjg them. My website pebblecreekweather.com uses your software and weather display live. I would love to learn how to take the website to a much higher level by placing weather display live in an html page and adding other pages that will display my boltek lightning system and radar images from around the southern United States. I live in College Station, Texas where Texas A & M University is located. The undergraduate program has some 45,000 students enrolled. I served as a chief academic officer in postsecondary institutions for nearly 40 years. I recently returned to the classroom for my last year in higher education. My plans are to retire in May of 2009. If you ever locate a CD of the Hollyridge Strings playing Beatle songs I would love to learn of it. I have looked without success. Many thanks for your weather display software it is a really great program and for your patients with my many requests.

 Hello -

I found your site very helpful whilst researching Chirnside, Nr Duns.  I came across it whilst researching my family history, my grandfathers surname is "Chirnside" and I guess this comes from the very first peoples of the village from which our family name comes. i.e. John of Chirnside etc.

If you have any information on family links and could advise me, that would be great.

Best wishes,

Lucy
